In the everyday world of installations and maintenance, what would help most is often missing: an extra hand.
With Salto Systems AG access systems, this is particularly evident during the update process. The programming device must be positioned exactly on the antenna of the fitting reader throughout the entire process. In practice, this means that a technician is tied up and cannot work on other doors in parallel.
The PPD holder was developed precisely from this situation.
It was developed based on a specific customer request, with the clear goal of making the update process more efficient and scalable.
By precisely fixing the programming device to the fitting reader, the connection remains stable without the device having to be held by hand. This makes it possible to carry out several updates simultaneously and to prepare the next doors in the meantime.
The effect is very clear in its application.
With several holders in use, firmware updates can be carried out in parallel. While one update is running, the next fitting reader can already be prepared. Depending on the application, updates can be completed up to four times faster than in the classic process.
A clear recommendation has also emerged from a practical perspective.
For shorter update cycles, two to three holders are useful. For larger installations, the use of up to five holders can significantly optimize the workflow. As soon as the last device is positioned, the first update is often already completed and the process continues continuously.
The design was deliberately made to allow different update devices to be used. The integrated slide-in system keeps the application flexible and adaptable to different requirements.
Today, the holder is not just a single item.
It is already being used by several Salto partners and has proven itself in daily use. The time saving is immediately noticeable and leads to more efficient processes on site.
At the same time, this project clearly shows what Collaboratory stands for.
The PPD holder is not a random product. It is the result of a concrete practical problem, combined with technical development and clean implementation.
We regularly develop precisely such solutions on request.
Whether individual components, fixtures or complete functional solutions - our focus is on simplifying work processes, saving time and enabling reproducible results.
When a concrete problem leads to a scalable solution, that's where engineering creates real added value.
